New patients may book an initial consultation appointment only. Appointments for specific treatments are not available to new patients because by law we cannot recommend treatment or supplements without having performed an initial consultation.
These are the services that doctors learn through advanced training in order to further help their patients. Often, advanced services augment basic naturopathic therapies to enhance the therapeutic effect.
High Dose Vitamin C Injections
Vitamin C and other vitamins have amazing healing properties. Intravenous (IV) injection of these vitamins is appropriate for some patients.
Vitamin injections can be done when a patient’s bowels are not working well enough to absorb the vitamins. For example, patients suffering bowel-compromised conditions may be candidates for IV vitamin injections.
We can also use this therapy when the patient needs a much higher dose than can be taken orally. When taking certain vitamins by mouth, only so much is absorbed and distributed to the cells. For instance, vitamin C at higher oral doses can cause diarrhea and may not be absorbed.
When we inject the vitamins, we can use high doses to optimize the therapeutic effect. Because the body’s digestive system is bypassed, most of the vitamins get into to supersaturate the cells of the body. We will often combine different vitamins and minerals all depending on the patient’s diagnosis and the desired therapeutic effect.
Ozone Therapy
Ozone is oxygen3, which is three bound atoms of oxygen. Ozone therapy is the use of medical grade ozone.
Ozone therapy has an important feature. If there are digestive issues or if the area being treated has poor circulation, ozone can overcome these barriers because it is applied directly to the affected area to stimulate healing.
There are multiple ways to administer ozone, not all of which are practiced at Green Apple Health Care. The most common methods are topical and injectable.
Topical ozone is administered by the use of medical gauze soaked in the ozonated water which is then applied to the area of the skin being treated.
Depending upon the condition being treated, injected ozone can be administered in different ways. For injection into a vein, it can be added to IV vitamin therapy. There are also injection therapies where the ozone is injected directly into an affected area.
This description of ozone therapy is a brief introduction to a detailed topic.

Chelation Therapy
Chelation is the removal of heavy toxic metals from the body. They are called heavy metals because of their physical weight on the periodic table of elements and because the body can’t remove them naturally.
Because the body has no natural method for removing heavy metals, they can build up. When they build up in organs, dysfunction and disease can occur.
With chelation we introduce a substance that goes into the body, grabs hold of the metal and pulls it out through the urine. There are different types of chelating agents used for different metals. Each one of these metal chelators is administered differently, some are capsules taken orally and some are injected. We choose the right chelating agent for the metals.
We test the patient to see what type of metals they have and in what volume before chelation therapy begins. Chelation can take an extended period of time, perhaps 2 to 3 years, to remove all the metals. Chelation cannot be rushed or it can damage the body by pulling out multiple metals too fast. Vitamins are taken before, during and after chelation to help the process and protect the body.
Advanced Natural Pain Relief Injection Therapy
We provide relief from pain using a natural therapy involving the injection of a local anesthetic, B vitamins, and natural herbal substances into a trigger point or pain area of the body.
It can happen that the pain is caused by a disruption of the energy flow to the area. The injected ingredients are designed to reset the nerve and circulation flow to the area, and relax the area to help restore the body’s natural flow.
Apart from the short-term relief from the injection, the increased circulation to the area promotes long-term healing of the area by allowing the body’s immune system to penetrate the area to promote ongoing tissue repair and reduction of pain.
Advanced Regenerative Injection Therapy
There are three different types of natural therapies for joint, injury and tissue. These therapies are used for areas of difficult healing or areas of pain that may not respond to oral medications or that may not have improved over time.
It can happen that someone who has had an injury finds that the pain lingers and becomes a chronic problem. The injury just doesn’t seem to heal. We find the source of the problem and work to improve healing in the injured area.
We have worked with patients who have trouble with large joints including knee, hip, shoulder and back issues. We’ve worked with patients who are on the waiting list for joint replacement surgery or patients who are not candidates for surgery due to health or age limitations.
- Prolotherapy is the most basic of the joint and tendon therapies. It is the injection of a local anesthetic and various B vitamins.
- Prolotherapy With Ozone (Prolozone) is a similar injection to prolotherapy but with ozone added.
- Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy*
Important note – The following information regarding PRP therapy is provided strictly for informational purposes. PRP therapy is not legally available in naturopathic clinics in Alberta. Therefore, effective January 2025 and until further notice, PRP therapy is not being performed at GreenApple Health Care. If it is determined by Dr. Nowazek that PRP therapy is appropriate for a patient, that patient will be referred to a physician or other practitioner whose regulatory agencies have authorized them to perform PRP therapy.
PRP can be used for patients with moderate to severe injury or pain. PRP may also be an appropriate therapy for patients who are not candidates for joint replacement because of age or a medical limitation but who really need some help.In this therapy the patient’s own blood is extracted and then put into a special centrifuge that spins to extract the Platelet Rich Plasma portion of their blood. That portion is then injected into the area of injury. The Platelet Rich Portion of the patient’s blood has the growth factors and regenerative cells to stimulate a healing response.
A vital part of PRP is preparation of the patient’s blood before the therapy. Because PRP is a blood-based therapy using the patient’s own blood, the blood must be properly prepared to ensure the success of the therapy. We can help to make sure that the patient’s blood contains all the nutrients and other components required for the most effective growth response while also reducing and eliminating unwanted items in the patient’s blood that may inhibit healing.
We can assist the patient with nutritional changes to optimize the quality of their blood prior to the injection. We have found this indispensable preparation of the patient’s blood improves healing and the effectiveness of the treatment. It also reduces any possible negative reactions that could happen with the PRP treatment. Proper preparation of your blood prior to treatment can maximize the therapeutic effect.
Natural Hormone Therapy
Natural hormone therapy is the use of natural substances that, on a molecular level, are similar to human hormones. It can be used to correct hormonal imbalances caused by illness, age, disease or toxins.
You can think of “hormone therapy” as an umbrella term that includes both synthetic and natural formats.
People will ask us if we use bioidentical hormones but, more specifically, many of them are looking for progesterone creams. We do not, nor can we, prescribe progesterone creams or any other prescription hormone therapies.
The Hormone Therapy that we do at Green Apple Health Care is completely natural.
