MicroVitamin Treatment for Brain Fog

Micro vitamin therapy offers fast effective treatment for brain fog or mild cognitive impairment when compared to traditional oral vitamin therapy. There are several vitamins that are important for brain function, chiefly B6, B12 and folic acid.

Low levels of B6 and B12 have been linked with poor mental function as well as an increase for risk of Alzheimer’s Disease. A recent study at Oxford’s Department of Clinical Neurosciences has shown that treatment of mild cognitive impairment, with B6, B12 and Folate decreased the shrinkage of grey matter in patient’s brains over a 2 year period.

Vitamin B6 has an impact on hormone levels including estrogen and progesterone. It can reduce symptoms of brain fog or difficulty concentrating due to anxiety related to menstruation. Vitamin B12 is a very tricky vitamin to absorb and is often poorly absorbed in people with stomach issues such as heartburn or ulcers. Certain medications for diabetes have been shown to reduce B12 levels in the blood which can lead to mild cognitive impairment or brain fog.

Many B-Vitamins are only present in meat or animal-sourced foods. Strict vegetarians need to consume sea vegetables and/or nutritional yeast to ensure their levels of B-Vitamins are adequate. Eggs are also a good source of many B-vitamins for ovo-lacto vegetarians.
