Beyond Conventional Weight Loss: What Now?

Hormones, bowels, thyroid, liver function, sleep and inflammation were topics of discussion during our first webinar “Beyond Conventional Weight Loss: When Diet and Exercise Don’t Work.”

A large audience was able to learn more about what aspects of their health are influencing their body composition, total body fat and ability to shed pounds.

Some of the quick tips we discussed included:

  • Drinking adequate water to improve bowel function
  • Sleep hygiene
  • Avoiding computers or screen-time before bed
  • Different foods that can improve metabolism.

We also talked about a variety of testing methods including hormone testing and food sensitivities testing, and how the information from these tests can be applied to fat loss patients to improve their odds of success.

We discussed how naturopathic medicine works and the philosophy behind our practice.
